Coasscit/Saar eV is the official partner of the Università per Stranieri di Siena for conducting certificate examinations in the Italian language.
The exams are organized by the university and held in the office in Saarbrücken. The division into examination levels corresponds to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe. The CILS exam is an official means of assessing and evaluating linguistic and communicative skills in Italian as a foreign language.
The CILS exam provides 6 levels of competence: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2, each of which certifies a higher level of linguistic and communicative competence.
Level B1 corresponds to the basic level of competence in Italian as a foreign language, level C2 corresponds to the level required to use Italian at work. Sections of the exam: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, metalinguistic competence, written and oral exam.
